California Redemption, a documentary film, provides a forum for shopping cart recyclers to express themselves, as they walk the streets of San Francisco day and night collecting glass bottles, aluminum cans and other recyclable material for the California cash redemption value. It is a matter of survival and independence for these hard-working environmentalists who recover thousands of pounds of recyclable "trash" and are a valuable, unrecognized, and misunderstood force in the community. Shopping cart recyclers provide the narration as "California Redemption" reveals a diverse and unique view from their reality on the streets.
